music monday | my favourite christmas songs

This is part of my Music Monday series on my blog! Other posts: studying and reading, playlist book tag, songs that remind me of witches

I love Christmas music. I had that Spotify playlist ready as soon as November hit. I was READY.

Like everyone, I have favourite Christmas songs, a majority of which are actually featured in Christmas films. These are those songs, COUNTING DOWN.

TEN: Stop the Cavalry by Jona Lewie

NINE: Do They Know It’s Christmas [1984 version] by Band Aid

EIGHT: Here With Me by Dido [from one of my favourite Christmas films, Love, Actually]

SEVEN: It’s Not Christmas Without You by the Victorious Cast

SIX: One More Sleep by Leona Lewis

FIVE: What If by Kate Winslet [from the 2001 Christmas Carol animation]

FOUR: Christmas Time [Don’t Let the Bells End] by The Darkness

THREE: Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande

TWO: Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell [from Love, Actually]

and a drum roll for number one…………………………………

FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl

Fairytale of New York is actually my mum’s favourite as well. We both tend to enjoy the same sort of music and film, so I don’t think anyone will be surprised when I say that Love, Actually is her favourite Christmas movie as well!

What’s your favourite Christmas song?

Thank you for reading, and happy holidays!

  1. So I am kiiiiiind of obsessed with Ariana’s “Santa Tell Me”! I just heard it a couple of weeks ago, and I’m in love. It’s so catchy. Another one of my favorite songs this season are “12 Days of Christmas” by Relient K – they sing THE BEST version, hands down!!!
